| "Kuan Yin - Mercy and Compassion" |
| Acrylic on canvas, 48"X60" |

The indian Bodhisattva of compassionate glance, Avalokitesvara, in Japan
is portrayed in feminine form and assumes the name of Kuan Yin. Her tear is a sign of her sorrow at the suffering of all existing beings, of her compassion to everybody. Compassion is the motivating force behind useful actions directed towards helping others. But compassion can only arise when we do not have a strong sense of separation from others: When we feel the Oneness, when we realize the EK ONG KAR. Only then, we are free to live as a compassionate being. |
